Position Title: Director of Mortgage Production
Reports To: President/CEO
Status: Salary; Exempt
Position Summary: The Director of Mortgage Lending will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mortgage loan production and operations. This role requires a seasoned mortgage professional with proven leadership skills, a deep understanding of lending regulations, and a track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a proactive problem-solver who can inspire and motivate a team to achieve success.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive mortgage loan production goals, revenue targets, and market expansion.
- Recruit for, Develop, Lead and manage the mortgage lending production team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Oversight of the mortgage processing and servicing functions; providing guidance, coaching, and support to the Director of Mortgage Processing and Servicing.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align lending strategies with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to identify opportunities for growth, develop marketing strategies, and enhance brand visibility in the mortgage lending market.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to anticipate challenges and opportunities, and adjust lending strategies accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies governing mortgage lending activities, including Fair Lending, RESPA, TILA, and HMDA.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize the customer experience.
- Directly accountable for the overall performance of the single-family mortgage function, relevant compliance and credit measures, and related outcomes. Analyze production data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous performance improvement.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the mortgage lending production and operations team, promoting professional development and career growth opportunities for team members.
- Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our mortgage lending products and services and build strategic partnerships.
- Perform other duties as may be required or assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervises the Manager of Loan Processing and Servicing
Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field; Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in mortgage lending and operations, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. LaserPro and Encompass experience preferred. Experience with Fannie Mae DU, UCD & UCDP preferred. Valid Driver’s License is required.
Specific Skills Required: Ability to communicate, written and verbal, effectively with people both internally and externally. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe products. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.
Competencies: Customer/Client focused, leadership presence, problem solving, approachability, critical and strategic thinking and decision making.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Prolonged (90%) sitting and periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position required the individual to perform normal office activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Frequent travel for meetings will be required.
