Position Title:   Market Retail / Business Development Coordinator 
Reports To:       Director of Retail Services / Kansas Regional President 
Status:               Salary; Exempt 
  
Position Summary:  Provides operational support to the Director of Retail Services as it relates to the retail operations of the assigned market. Provides leadership and operational support to the retail staff in the assigned market. Responsible for planning, directing and organizing the daily retail operations in the market.  Deals directly with new and existing customers to expand and strengthen banking relationships by providing prompt, accurate and friendly service to all customers. Is directly responsible for the management, coaching and development of the retail staff in the market under their supervision. Perform duties related to a variety of bank deposit operation functions at the branch level on an “as needed basis”. Responsible for developing new business and increasing deposits by identifying and acquiring new customers and enhancing existing customer relationships. 
 
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
  •  Market Retail Coordinator
    •  Provides operational and customer service support to new account staff in the market.
    •  Train New Account users on the BPM New Account Platform
    •  Coordinate/Conduct training to new account personnel on proper new account procedures and policy to ensure compliance with regulation.
    •  Perform routine 2x2x2 audits to ensure staff is following process for improved sales opportunity and compliance with “Know Your Customer” procedures.
    •  Actively seeks ways to improve the processes and enhance the customer experience while complying with regulation as it relates to the account opening function of the bank.
    •  Performs New Account Opening Processes to support staffing needs in the market.
    •  Provides operational and customer service support to teller staff in the market.
    •  Act as administrator for the Integrated Teller System in the market.
    • Oversee/Coordinate/Conduct training program for tellers in conjunction with the VP of Retail on processes, policy, procedure and regulation to ensure compliance while maintaining and improving efficiencies in the market.
    •  Actively seek ways to improve the processes and enhance the customer experience while complying with regulations as it relates to the teller function of the market.
    •  Coordinate with the Director of Retail Services on Anti-money laundering training and reporting at the market and branch levels.
    •  Performs Teller Duties as Outlined in the Teller Job Description to support staffing needs in the market.
    •  Analyze/Coordinate staffing between the market branches to ensure branch staff levels are optimum for service and efficiency.
    •  Participates in the interview and hiring process for retail staff in the market.
    •  Schedules market staff and approves time off request for the market.
    •  Work with the Director of Retail Services to provide direction/training/support to market branch retail staff.
    •  Coordinate with the Director of Retail Services to implement new products, services and procedures to the market branch retail staff.
    •  Oversee the market back counter & teller capture process.
    •  Conduct audit and internal control review on branch operations in the market.
    •  Attends and actively participates in team/market/bank sales meetings.
    • Enhance selling/cross-selling knowledge in the market.
    • Assist management in implementing and tracking sales goals and performance in the market.
    •  Evaluates the performance of market retail staff.
    •  Provides monthly coaching to market retail staff to discuss performance, areas of improvement and career development opportunities.  
    •  Provides recommendations to supervisor for compensation, decisions, hiring and disciplinary action for direct reports.
    •  Proactively evaluate/recommend/implement processes & procedures to ensure continuity between market branches.
    •  Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding retail products, banking services, ownership and account structure and setup, software capabilities and regulatory compliance as it relates to new deposit accounts, safe deposit boxes and retail operations.
    •  Make recommendations to management on methods to improve the retail operations of the bank.
    •  Assist the Chief Risk Officer and Director of Retail Services in identifying risk.
  •  Business Development Coordinator
    •  Identifies, acquires, and grows new relationships with both personal and business customers. 
    •  Creates opportunities and partners with lenders, retail staff, digital services staff, treasury, and marketing to discuss business products, services, and customer onboarding.
    •  Is a product knowledge expert and identifies growth opportunities with all Treasury services including, but not limited to Account Opening, ACH, Remote Deposit Capture, Wires, Positive Pay, Account Analysis, Lockbox, Credit Cards, Merchant Services, as well as any emerging products and services.
    •  Increases the bank’s relevance to prospective customers and positions the bank for new business opportunities through marketing efforts and value-added ideas. 
    •  Collaborates with Market President to develop and implement a highly successful deposit generation campaign.
    •  Partners with lenders and retail staff and other partners to ensure a smooth customer transition.
  •  Represents the Bank at various civic and community functions and events to enhance the Bank’s image and develop new business. 
  •  Promotes a favorable image of the Bank in all business activities within the community.
  •  Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervises facility retail staff and new account staff in the market as assigned.
 
Education and Experience Requirements:  : Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience required. Proven success and track record in developing new business relationships. Retail branch banking and sales experience is required. Understand Federal, State and Union State banking rules and regulations. Bank related courses strongly recommended.

Specific Skills Required: Ability to communicate effectively with people both internally and externally through verbal and written skills. Background in customer service and sales. Demonstrated proficiency in operations, transaction accuracy and referrals. Detail-oriented, organized with the ability to identity and solve problems quickly. Ability to multi-task with an ability to follow policy, procedures and regulatory banking requirements.  Excellent computer skills and knowledge is required.  Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint programs. Demonstrated leadership abilities and works well with all levels within the organization. Fosters a team environment. Strong people skills required. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

Competencies: Relationship management, leadership presence, communication, problem solving, customer focus.   

System Accesses: Precision, Business Process Manager, Integrated Teller, Teller Source Capture & Back Counter Capture, Card@Once, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

Equipment Used: Office equipment which includes computer, multi-line phone system, copier, adding machine, currency counter, coin counter, coin wrapper, projector and imaging scanner.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position exists in an office environment requiring the individual to perform normal activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Frequent travel between facilities will be required.
